Tasting profile
Structure: full-bodied, high tannin, high acidity, dry
Diego and Damiano Barale took over their family estate in the village of Barolo in 2012, farming organically and making traditional wines. Their Barolo co-ferments fruit from sites such as Monrobiolo di Bussia, whose sandy soils give warmth and richness, and San Giovanni, whose cooler marls add fragrance, then ages it in French tonneaux. Red cherry and dried rose with tar, licorice, orange peel and an iron-tinged savour, firm tannins and bright acidity. Balanced and stylish, it rewards a decade in bottle.
