Boudes

Tasting profile

Structure: light-bodied, low tannin, medium acidity, dry

Boudes is the southernmost cru of the Côtes d'Auvergne, and Desprat Saint Verny's bottling blends about 60% Gamay with 40% Pinot Noir from terraced vines on basalt and red clay. Destemmed and fermented in stainless steel to keep the fruit forward, it shows raspberry and blackcurrant with fine smoky, peppery notes from the volcanic soils, on a light, supple frame. An everyday red to drink young.
