Tasting profile
Structure: medium-bodied, medium tannin, medium acidity, dry
Imperial Reserva is CVNE's Haro-bottled Reserva, sourced from the house's Rioja Alta vineyards. It's mostly Tempranillo, with a little Garnacha, Graciano and Mazuelo for lift and structure, and is aged around two years in mostly French oak with some American oak. Expect red cherry and plum over cedar, sweet spice and tobacco, with leather and dried herbs coming through as it ages. Medium-bodied, fresh and fine-grained, it's a classic Rioja that relies on balance rather than extraction and rewards a decade or more in the cellar.
