Tasting profile

Structure: medium-bodied, low tannin, high acidity, dry

Terlano's flagship Sauvignon, from the cooperative's own plots on quartz-rich, sandy loam porphyry soils in the central Adige Valley. Aged about nine months on the lees, half in large wooden casks and half in steel. Young, it shows layered tropical and citrus fruit (mango, papaya, lime, grapefruit), herbal lemongrass, mint and green tea, and a flinty, mineral line with a hint of gooseberry, all on taut acidity. After about five years the freshness turns to honey, wax and a light smokiness. A long-lived Sauvignon with a record of ageing beyond ten years.
