Piras

Tasting profile

Structure: medium-bodied, low tannin, medium acidity, dry

Piras is the Vermentino di Gallura DOCG of Cantina Gallura, the Tempio Pausania cooperative whose members farm about 350 hectares on the granite soils of north-east Sardinia. Made in steel from soft-pressed, selected fruit, and presented by the cellar as the purest expression of its Vermentino. Citrus, grapefruit peel and white flowers with green apple, a salty, mineral tang and the faintly bitter almond finish typical of Gallura. Fresh and dry, around 12.5–13%. Serve at 10–12°C with raw and grilled seafood, shellfish pasta or delicate meats.
