Tasting profile

Structure: light-bodied, low tannin, high acidity, dry

Les Abymes from André et Michel Quenard, the family domaine farming steep slopes around Chignin in Savoie, is pure Jacquère from fifty-year-old vines on the limestone rubble left by the great 1248 landslide of Mont Granier. Light, crisp and low in alcohol: green apple, lemon and pear with white flowers, a hint of alpine herbs and a stony, mouth-watering finish. The classic mountain white for cheese dishes.

Serving: Serve at 8–10 °C.
