Tasting profile

Structure: light-bodied, low tannin, high acidity, dry

Light Dry Red is Aeon's modern take on the old Hunter Valley tradition of blending Shiraz with Pinot Noir. Aeon is the label of Alisdair and Kenisha Tulloch, and the fruit is all Hunter Valley. The 2024, for example, was about 70% Syrah and 30% Pinot Noir, fermented whole-bunch, matured in large French oak puncheons and bottled unfined and unfiltered. It is a light, fragrant, fresh red with red cherry, raspberry and a touch of pepper. It takes well to a light chill and is made for drinking young rather than for the cellar.
