Malbec is the leading red, joined by Cabernet Sauvignon and other varieties. **Character** — Vineyards planted high in the Andes — in places well over a thousand metres above sea level — bask in intense sunlight and cool nights, a combination that yields fruit with deep colour, firm acidity and pronounced aromatics.
