Tasting profile

Structure: full-bodied, medium tannin, medium acidity, dry

El Esteco's Fincas Notables Malbec, from the El Socorro vineyard planted in the mid-2010s on calcareous soils at around 1,800 metres near Cafayate in the Calchaquí Valleys of Salta. The intense high-altitude sun gives deep colour and ripe fruit, the cold nights keep it fresh. Aged about fifteen months in French oak: black plum and blackberry with violet, a peppery, spicy edge, tobacco and a light smoky note. Full-bodied with soft, ripe tannin, firm acidity and a long finish.

Serving: Serve at 16–18 °C.
