An unexpected wine from an estate known almost entirely for formidable long-lived reds. Muscat of Alexandria is usually seen in Australia as a fortified or a sweet style; made as a dry table wine it keeps all the variety's extravagant perfume — orange blossom, fresh grape, musk and rose — over a palate that is drier and more savoury than the nose promises. Medium-bodied with a faintly grapey, musky finish. A curiosity in the best sense, and one of the very few whites the estate produces.
