Tasting profile
Structure: medium-bodied, medium tannin, high acidity, dry
Sciare Vive is Vigneti Vecchio's Etna Rosso, from old, partly pre-phylloxera vines on fine volcanic sand on the mountain's slopes. About 90% Nerello Mascalese with a share of other local varieties, including some white grapes co-fermented in the old field-blend way. Pale and perfumed: sour red cherry and wild strawberry, wildflowers, dried herbs and orange peel over a smoky, ashy volcanic minerality, with bright acidity and fine, dusty tannins.
Serving: Serve at 15–17 °C.
