Rubinus

Tasting profile

Structure: full-bodied, medium tannin, medium acidity, dry

Rubinus is Tenute Smeralda's barrique-aged red from Donori in southern Sardinia, bottled as Isola dei Nuraghi IGT from native island varieties. Hand-harvested in early October, macerated for three to four weeks and matured about twelve months in barriques, it is warm and generous at around 14.5% alcohol: cherry jam and dark berries with vanilla, almond and sweet spice, full-bodied, with soft, rounded tannins.
