Tasting profile
Structure: medium-bodied, medium tannin, medium acidity, dry
Stefano Amerighi farms biodynamically at Poggiobello di Farneta near Cortona, in eastern Tuscany, where Syrah has found a second home. His Cortona Syrah is foot-trodden, fermented with natural yeasts and aged in cement and large casks rather than new oak. It is fresh and savoury: blackberry and black cherry with violet, black pepper, Mediterranean herbs and an earthy note, on fine, supple tannins. It ages well for about a decade.
