Tasting profile

Structure: full-bodied, high tannin, medium acidity, dry

Amarone from a single vineyard, Il Fornetto, and made in the most demanding version of the style — the grapes dried on racks for several months before fermentation, here for longer than the appellation requires, concentrating everything. Corvina, Rondinella and Molinara giving dried cherry, fig and raisin over cocoa, leather, tobacco and warm spice, with the bitter-almond twist the Veneto's grapes always leave. Full-bodied and powerful at high alcohol, dry despite the impression of sweetness, with firm tannin and a long, savoury finish.

Serving: Serve at 16–18 °C.
