Tasting profile
Structure: light-bodied, low tannin, medium acidity, dry
Ottouve ("eight grapes") is Salvatore Martusciello's Gragnano della Penisola Sorrentina, the lightly sparkling (frizzante) red of the hills behind Naples. The blend is built on Piedirosso for fresh red fruit, Sciascinoso for softness and Aglianico for backbone, completed by other old local varieties. It is a light, low-alcohol (about 11.5%) red with a gentle prickle, bright cherry, strawberry and raspberry, a touch of violet and pepper and light tannins. Serve it lightly chilled and young, with pizza, salumi and Neapolitan home cooking.
Serving: Serve at 13–15 °C.
