Tasting profile
Structure: full-bodied, medium tannin, medium acidity, dry
Geyserville is Ridge's historic Alexander Valley field blend, made every year since 1966 from old, interplanted vines around the town of Geyserville: mostly Zinfandel with Carignane, Petite Sirah and small amounts of Alicante Bouschet and Mataro (Mourvèdre), aged in American oak. It is vibrant and spicy rather than jammy: blackberry and raspberry with black pepper, brambles, sweet spice and herbs, on supple tannins. Lovely young and among the most age-worthy Zinfandel blends, good for fifteen years.
