Priorat's reds grow on llicorella, the region's fractured black slate, where old low-yielding vines push roots deep for water. Grenache brings the dark cherry and warmth, Syrah the pepper and colour, and the site gives both a stony, mineral tension that keeps the high alcohol in balance. Blackberry and dark cherry over liquorice, dried herbs and a distinct slate note, full-bodied with firm tannin. Powerful, but held upright by acidity rather than tasting merely heavy.
