Tasting profile

Structure: medium-bodied, low tannin, high acidity, dry

Fred Loimer's dry Riesling from Ried Steinmassl, a 1ÖTW (Erste Lage) site on a ridge in the Schiltern hills north of Langenlois, a former quarry running from about 340 down to 240 metres on stony soils, farmed biodynamically. Steinmassl Riesling leans to tension and minerality: white peach, apricot and lime with orange zest, wet stone and herbs, taut and dry with ripe, driving acidity and a long finish that rewards bottle age.

Serving: Serve at 9–11 °C.
