Ludwig Ehn's Riesling from the Heiligenstein above Zöbing, one of the Kamptal's 1ÖTW (Erste Lage) sites, where the vines grow on red Permian sandstone and volcanic debris. Fermented and aged in steel for about eleven months and bottled under screwcap, it is a dry, taut Riesling of stone fruit, lime and citrus zest over a pronounced stony, mineral core. Young it is tight and precise; with several years in bottle it broadens toward apricot and honey while keeping its drive. Falstaff rated the 2023 at 94 points.
