Tasting profile
Structure: light-bodied, medium acidity, dry
Montesei is the Soave Classico of Le Battistelle, the Dal Bosco family's small estate at Brognoligo in the heart of the Classico hills, where Gelmino and Cristina Dal Bosco began bottling their own wine in 2002 rather than selling grapes to the co-operative. It is pure Garganega from hillside vines on volcanic soils, hand-picked, fermented in stainless steel and kept on its lees for a few months with no oak, at about 12.5%. Expect white peach, apricot and citrus with almond blossom, a savoury touch of wild herbs and a stony, mineral finish. A fresh, dry Soave for drinking over its first few years.
