Tasting profile
Structure: full-bodied, medium tannin, medium acidity, dry
Kellerei Meran's top Lagrein comes from the Segenbühel, a steep, warm and dry slope of weathered porphyry above Meran at 300–400 m, one of the warmest sites in the Burggrafenamt. Aged about 16 months in small and large oak, it is deep garnet with ripe dark fruit, violet, liquorice and cocoa, a touch of leather with time, and a powerful palate held by firm but ripe tannins and good length. A structured Riserva that rewards a few years in the cellar; serve with game, lamb or braised red meat.
