Tasting profile
Structure: medium-bodied, medium tannin, medium acidity, dry
Lagrein Südtirol DOC from Wilhelm Walch, the Walch family's second label in Tramin, separate from the Elena Walch range. Lagrein is Alto Adige's own dark red grape: deep ruby, with cherry, sour cherry, plum and elderberry over a hint of cedar and pepper, fresh acidity and soft but present tannins at about 13% alcohol. A youthful, everyday red for hearty mountain food, best drunk within its first few years.
