Tasting profile
Structure: full-bodied, medium tannin, medium acidity, dry
The Red Mountain Cabernet Sauvignon of Hedges Family Estate, one of the AVA's founding families, now made by Sarah Hedges Goedhart from biodynamically farmed estate fruit. It is a Cabernet-dominant wine filled out with small amounts of Merlot, Malbec, Cabernet Franc, Petit Verdot and Syrah, in proportions that vary by vintage, and aged around two years in mostly French oak. Dark blackberry and cassis with cedar, tobacco and cocoa; rich yet balanced, with juicy acidity and ripe, integrated tannin. Not to be confused with the estate's "Red Mountain" red blend.
