The cuvée name is a statement of method: fermented and raised entirely in new barrels, an unusually assertive treatment for Chardonnay outside the grand crus. Expect the wood to be forward in youth — vanilla, toast, butter and hazelnut over lemon and white peach fruit, with a creamy, broad texture. Dupont-Fahn work in the Côte de Beaune around Meursault, and the style follows that template. 2024 was a small and difficult Burgundy vintage, cool and pressured by disease, which left the whites leaner and fresher than usual; here that is an advantage, since the acidity is what will carry this much new oak until it integrates.
