A single-vineyard Russian River Valley Pinot Noir from Chappellet's Grower Collection, the Napa estate's cool-climate Sonoma project built around block-designate fruit from acclaimed growers. Apple Lane sits on the Santa Rosa Plain side of the valley, where morning fog holds acidity and the wine stays in the red-fruit register: bright cherry and raspberry lifted by blood orange and rose petal, with forest floor, cola and a dusting of baking spice from barrel. The frame is medium-bodied and silky rather than extracted, with fine-grained tannin and a long, savoury close that gains sous-bois complexity with bottle age.
