Tasting profile

Structure: full-bodied, medium tannin, medium acidity, dry

Gran Reserva is Rioja's highest ageing tier — at least five years before release with a minimum of two in oak and three in bottle, so the winery does the waiting. Tempranillo led, with Graciano for freshness and Mazuelo (the Rioja name for Carignan) for structure. Dried cherry and fig with vanilla, coconut and sweet dill from American oak, and leather, tobacco and dried herb from the long bottle age. Full-bodied but silky, tannins entirely resolved. Traditional Rioja at its most classical.

Serving: Serve at 16–18 °C.
