Expect dark plum and blackberry with dried herbs, liquorice, black pepper and a faintly gamey, earthy note that is Monastrell's signature, full-bodied with firm ripe tannins. Wines from these inland Alicante vineyards tend to be more structured and less jammy than the heat alone would suggest, thanks to altitude and old bush-vine plantings.
