Riesling Kieselsandstein

Tasting profile

Structure: medium-bodied, high acidity, dry

Jochen Beurer's Kieselsandstein comes from a high (about 380 m) site near Stetten im Remstal on hard, quartz-rich silica sandstone that the estate calls its most exciting soil. Farmed organically and harvested late, it is a taut, dry Riesling of citrus, green apple and flint with herbal lift, a mineral, almost salty grip and a long finish. One of Württemberg's finest dry Rieslings, it gains texture and depth over several years in bottle.

Serving: Serve at 9–11 °C.
