Tasting profile
Structure: light-bodied, medium tannin, high acidity, dry
Handwerk is the estate Spätburgunder of Julia Bertram and Benedikt Baltes, from biodynamically farmed younger vines on the Ahr's slate. Spontaneously fermented, unchaptalised and aged through two winters in large wood, it is light in alcohol and deliberately reductive in youth, with sour cherry, sloe, cassis and violet over fine tannins and a juicy, saline line. The estate's entry wine, but one that rewards a few years in the cellar.
