Dark cherry and blackberry with cracked black pepper, violet, olive and a smoky, bacon-fat savour. Medium-bodied with fine tannin and real acidity. This is Syrah in its peppery, savoury register rather than the sweet-fruited style warm climates give, and it drinks well from three or four years.
