The top-tier (three-star) red blend of the Weinmanufaktur Untertürkheim, the Stuttgart growers' cooperative founded in 1887: Cabernet Franc with the deep-coloured German crossing Cabernet Cubin, from cropped-back vineyards in Untertürkheim, macerated for three weeks and raised for 24 months in new and used barriques. Dense and dark, with blackcurrant, blackberry and a leafy red-pepper note from the Franc over cedar, vanilla and cocoa from the oak, firm tannin and balanced acidity. Built to gain harmony over several years in bottle.
