Tasting profile

Structure: full-bodied, medium tannin, medium acidity, dry

Das Kleine Kreuz is the second red cuvée of Weingut Rings in Freinsheim, Pfalz, a little brother to the estate's flagship Das Kreuz. It is a Bordeaux-inspired blend led by Merlot, with St. Laurent, Cabernet Franc and Cabernet Sauvignon, from organically farmed vines, fermented with natural yeasts and aged about 20 months in new and used barriques. Expect dark berries, black cherry and cassis with cocoa, pepper and cedar, a dense fruity palate and ripe, firm tannins. It drinks from a couple of years after the vintage and holds for close to a decade.
