Three Strikes takes its name from its make-up: equal thirds Marsanne, Roussanne and Viognier, grown on Wanted Man's single site on Heathcote's ancient red Cambrian soils and made by Matt Harrop. Yellow nectarine and red gala apple lead, with fresh grass and spring meadow flowers behind, then a soft, viscous middle of honey and pecan. A fine spine of Meyer lemon acidity drives the palate and stops the texture turning heavy. Marsanne gives this style real longevity, and with age it moves further toward honey, beeswax and toasted nut.
