Tasting profile
Structure: medium-bodied, medium tannin, medium acidity, dry
Tarani is a range from Vinovalie, the south-west French cooperative group based around Fronton, Gaillac and Cahors, and this red is an IGP Comté Tolosan Malbec with a little Merlot in the blend. Malbec gives it dark colour and ripe blackberry, plum and black cherry fruit, with a savoury note of thyme and a gentle peppery spice. The palate is smooth and velvety, with well-integrated tannins. Serve at about 16 °C with grilled meats, duck breast, Toulouse sausage or barbecue. It is a wine for drinking in its youth; older vintages should be opened soon.
