Brut

Tasting profile

Structure: medium-bodied, medium acidity, off-dry

A non-vintage traditional-method sparkling wine from South Africa's Western Cape, reportedly made in Tulbagh from roughly equal parts Chardonnay and Pinot Noir and aged around nine months on the lees. True to its name, it leans soft and rounded rather than austere: white peach, pineapple and baked apple with a touch of honey and toast, a creamy mousse and gentle acidity, finishing on the fuller, slightly sweeter side of Brut. An easy, crowd-pleasing aperitif sparkler made for drinking fresh.
