Tasting profile
Structure: medium-bodied, low tannin, high acidity, dry
Monje is an amber, skin-contact co-ferment from Anish Patel's Tinto Amorio, made from organically grown fruit: Colombard (around half) with Gewürztraminer, a little Zinfandel and Albariño. The Colombard brings zip and the Gewürztraminer perfume, while time on the skins adds texture and a light tannic grip: orange peel, lychee and apricot over green apple, rose and black tea, with a dry, refreshing finish.
Serving: Serve at 9–11 °C.

Where it comes from
California, United States
California is the powerhouse of American wine, stretching down the western coast of the United States and responsible for the vast majority of the country's production.
Colombard
Colombard is a white grape from the Charente region of western France, historically grown as a base for the distillation of Cognac and Armagnac thanks to its naturally high acidity and modest alcohol.
Gewürztraminer
Gewürztraminer is a pink-skinned white grape whose roots trace to the village of Tramin in Italy's Alto Adige, a mutation of the older Traminer family.
Zinfandel
Zinfandel is a red grape genetically identical to Croatia's Tribidrag (or Crljenak) and to southern Italy's Primitivo, though it became an icon in California.
Albariño
Albariño is a white grape from the damp, Atlantic-facing corner of northwest Spain, where it is the signature variety of Rías Baixas in Galicia and the source of some of the country's most refreshing whites.
