Thörle is one of Rheinhessen's leading Pinot Noir estates, farming organically around Saulheim and fermenting with native yeast and partly whole bunches. This estate Spätburgunder is the lighter, more transparent wine beside their single-vineyard Hölle and Probstey bottlings: pale ruby, with morello cherry and wild raspberry, a herbal mint lift, and fine acidity running into a faintly saline, mineral finish. The tannins are gentle, so it drinks with real charm in its first few years.
