Csukma is Sauska's premium single-site Merlot from Villány, Hungary's warmest red-wine region in the far south. It is a powerful, oak-aged Merlot of deep colour: ripe plum and blackcurrant with liquorice, cedar, dark chocolate and tobacco. The palate is full-bodied, with ripe but substantial tannins and enough freshness to carry it. It is made to age, and it softens and gains savoury, tobacco-leaf complexity over a decade.
