Tasting profile

Structure: light-bodied, medium tannin, high acidity, dry

Pofadder is Eben Sadie's Cinsault from a single block of about 2.5 hectares on the Riebeeksrivier farm in the Swartland, grown on iron-rich slate. It is now bottled in Die Distriksreeks, the Sadie Family's district series. Biodynamically farmed and made with a light hand: pale and fine-boned, with fresh red cherry, wild strawberry and pomegranate, rose petal, white pepper and a saline, stony edge, lifted by high acidity and finely framed, nervy tannin. Beautiful young, and it has the tension to age.
