Tasting profile

Structure: medium-bodied, high acidity, dry

Part of Oakridge's Local Vineyard Series, this Chardonnay comes from the Willowlake vineyard at Gladysdale, in the cool, high Upper Yarra on red volcanic soils. It is hand-picked and made in Oakridge's taut, modern style, with a struck-match edge, French oak in support and no overt richness. Yellow apple, pear and grilled lemon with flint and a light macadamia and spice note from the barrel, carried by bright acidity and a fine, mineral finish. It is lovely young and builds texture over five to seven years.
