Tasting profile

Structure: medium-bodied, medium tannin, high acidity, dry

From Oakridge's Local Vineyard Series, this Pinot Noir is grown at the north-facing Willowlake vineyard in Gladysdale, Upper Yarra, on red volcanic soils. It is hand-picked, fermented with wild yeast in open vats with a share of whole bunches, and aged about eleven months in French oak. Red cherry, raspberry and pomegranate with rose petal, five spice and a savoury forest-floor note, with fine, silky tannins and bright acidity. It is fragrant and approachable young, and gains savoury depth over five or six years.
