Chardonnay from Gippsland, Victoria's coolest and most maritime region, where a long slow ripening season gives the grape acidity that warmer Australian districts lose. A reserve bottling means the estate's best parcels and more barrel work. White peach and ripe pear over lemon curd, toasted hazelnut and a stony, saline undertone, with oak used for texture rather than flavour. Full-bodied and creamy from lees work but carried on a firm acid line — closer in shape to the Côte de Beaune than to the ripe Australian style of a generation ago.
