Tasting profile

Structure: full-bodied, high tannin, medium acidity, dry

Moss Wood is one of the founding estates of Margaret River and its Cabernet is among the defining Australian examples of the variety — from the home vineyard at Wilyabrup, planted in 1969, on gravelly loam over granite. Cassis and dark cherry with cedar, violet, graphite and a subtle bay-leaf note. Full-bodied but never heavy: the tannin is firm and finely woven rather than gripping, and the maritime climate keeps acidity and perfume intact. A wine of proportion and length that ages for decades.
