Bel'Villa Vineyard Syrah

Tasting profile

Structure: medium-bodied, medium tannin, medium acidity, dry

A single-vineyard Syrah from the Bel' Villa Vineyard on Red Mountain, the wine Brent and Sarah Goedhart founded their family label on in 2006; Sarah is also a winemaker at Hedges Family Estate. It is 100% Syrah, estate grown and bottled unfiltered after around 18 months in French and American oak. Bright red and black fruit with lots of black pepper spice, violets and a savoury, earthy edge; succulent and rounded on the palate, with Red Mountain's firm frame kept fresh. Good on release and better after a few years in bottle.
