A single-parcel Montlouis from Coralie and Damien Delecheneau, on sandy clay studded with flint, and the cuvée that sits at the top of their hierarchy. Chenin Blanc fermented with indigenous yeasts and raised without racking or sulphiting across foudre, amphora and concrete egg for a year and more. Golden in the glass, with pear juice, apricot and quince over blond tobacco, pain d'épice and a chalky, faintly smoky mineral core. Full-bodied and textured yet dry and taut, with the bitter grapefruit-zest lift that lengthens the finish. Worth decanting, and built to reward a decade.
