Tasting profile
Structure: full-bodied, medium tannin, medium acidity, dry
Cayas is the flagship Syrah of Domaine Jean-René Germanier in Vétroz, from steep granite-schist terraces in the Valais, aged in oak and released as a Réserve. It is one of Switzerland's benchmark Syrahs, often compared with the northern Rhône: blackberry and blueberry, violet and black olive, white pepper and a smoky, savoury note, with a dense yet fresh palate and fine, ripe tannins. It drinks well a few years after release and ages for a decade and a half.
