Tasting profile

Structure: full-bodied, high tannin, medium acidity, dry

Pierre de Tuf is Domaine de la Noblaie's historic top Chinon: Cabernet Franc from two parcels planted around 1940, given a long maceration in a fifteenth-century vat carved into the tuffeau beneath the estate, then aged in 500-litre barrels and amphorae. Dark and brooding, with blackcurrant, black cherry and violet over graphite, spice and tobacco, full-bodied with firm, fine tannin. A Chinon built for long ageing.
