Tasting profile

Structure: full-bodied, high tannin, high acidity, dry

Domaine Bordaxuria's top Irouléguy, a selection of Tannat from the estate's oldest, best-exposed vines on the steep red-sandstone slopes at Ispoure, with a little Cabernet Franc (about 90/10). Farmed organically and aged around 18 months in 400-litre barrels. Dark fruit, violet and graphite over a firm, mountain-fresh structure; the Tannat tannins are powerful but polished, with a saline lift on the finish.
