Tasting profile

Structure: medium-bodied, medium acidity, dry

Luna is the white of Conti Zecca, the long-standing estate at Leverano in the Salento, in the sun-drenched heel of Puglia. It is a blend of Chardonnay and Malvasia Bianca bottled as Salento IGP. The Chardonnay brings body and ripe orchard and tropical fruit, and the Malvasia a fragrant, floral lift. A few months in barrique add a creamy texture and a soft hint of vanilla. In the glass that means pineapple, mango and ripe peach with lemony freshness and white flowers. Serve it at 8–10 °C with the seafood of the Puglian coast, such as grilled prawns and shellfish, seafood linguine or baked sea bream, or with roast chicken and burrata. It is lovely within its first three years and keeps its charm a little beyond.
