Marron is an unusual botrytised red from Les Ouches on Île d'Orléans, Quebec, made from Marquette grapes touched by noble rot in misty autumn conditions and shrivelled on the vine. Despite the noble rot it is nearly dry, with only a little residual sugar and preserved acidity giving tension to an ample, deep and long palate. Raised in tank on fine lees, it shows prune and preserved fruit with subtle cocoa notes.
